This 2 day (12 hour) FAIB First Aid at Work Re-qualification course is designed for first aiders to renew their existing First Aid at Work qualification for a further 3 years and to help them maintain their skills and stay up to date with current first aid knowledge and practices.
This course revisits the topics covered on an initial First Aid at Work course and helps ensure that individuals remain confident and competent in providing effective first aid. Delivered in a supportive and relaxed environment, the course combines theretical learning, practical exercises and workplace-relevant scenarios to reinforce key skills and knowledge.

The course content includes:
- Introduction to first aid
- Responsibilities of the first aider
- Recognising illness and injury in the workplace
- Primary and secondary survey
- Recovery position
- Summoning help
- Critical bleeding
- Wounds
- Adult, child and infant resuscitation
- CPR
- AEDs
- Small cuts, grazes, bruises, splinters and nose bleeds
- Unconscious casualty management
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Head injuries

- Shock – including Hypovolaemic, Nervous and Anaphylaxis
- Medical Conditions inc. Fainting, Heart Attacks, Strokes, Seizures and Diabetes

- Simple record keeping and first aid equipment.
- Disposal of wasteThe Wilderness Project is regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). All FAIB certificates are recognised by HSE and Department for Education/OFSTED Inspectors. The FAIB quality managment system holds third party Certification via UKAS and operates under the standards required for ISO 9001 (2015).The FAIB are one of the founding members of the First Aid Quality Partnership (FAQP), a body that includes representation from HSE, the Resuscitation Council (UK), the Voluntary Aid Societies and from OFQUAL, SQA as well as Fire, Police and Ambulance. The Wilderness Project meets the Quality Assurance standards published by the FAQP.
