CREATIVE CRAFTS – New for Autumn & Winter

At Learn Outdoors we understand the difficulties schools are currently facing regarding school trips.  We also know how important it is for children’s well-being to experience extra-curricular activities, to socialise outside the classroom and develop new creative skills.

So, we’re offering single or multi-day creative crafts events run at your venue during the school day or out of hours and delivered in a COVID-safe fashion.

With a whole variety of activities available, including carved whistles, woven baskets, cordage, wooden pendants, Japanese hapa zome artwork and much more, you can be sure to choose a fun and absorbing itinerary.

How much will it cost?

The price is £36 (+ VAT) per pupil per day and covers instruction, equipment, materials, cleaning of equipment etc. (based on a minimum of 10 participants).

What ages are these events for?

These creative crafts events are available for any age group

Where and how will the events be run?

The events will be run from your venue and can be indoors or outdoors according to your preference and/or the weather.

The safe handling of tools and equipment is at the forefront of our delivery. In addition, all reasonable steps will be taken to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Any sharing of equipment will be minimised and increased hygiene/cleansing will be observed.

We’ll discuss full details of the measures we’ll take to keep you safe alongside your policies prior to the event so you may be reassured.

What activities will we being doing?

There are loads of activities on offer but some of our most popular include: wooden mushroom key fobs, jute bracelet making, Japanese hapa zome art, carved whistles and polished larch pendants.  We know what tends to work well with different age ranges and in conjunction with you, we can put together a selection to best suit your needs.

My daughter absolutely LOVED the Creative Crafts course, thank you! She particularly liked the fact that you taught and trusted them to use tools properly, and I loved the fact that all of the activities were so unique, and nothing she’d have done anywhere else.

She also mentioned that she thought Nicky, the instructor, was great.

It was obviously brilliantly organised, and she will definitely be signing up to future courses!

Many thanks for organising the Creative Crafts course – my daughter really enjoyed it, particularly whittling/carving the wooden mushroom keyrings!

Many thanks, it was a super activity for the girls to do and all be together again.

My daughter absolutely loved it! She thought the instructor was excellent and gave very clear instructions. She really enjoyed making the mushroom and basket making in particular and just thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Thank you so much for organising it, we give it 5/5 definitely.

This foundation course is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to run some basic bushcraft skills sessions with your own group exploring ways in which you would deliver basic bushcraft sessions yourself.

“I attended an invaluable, well-structured, comprehensive, supportive and enjoyable Advanced Hill Skills course. This small-group course was tailored to meet my individual needs, namely to improve specific Mountain Leader skills prior to putting myself forward for assessment. After the course I was then able to pass my Mountain Leader Assessment with confidence.”
